Arthur’s Christmas Adventure
Arthur Naeum, the friendly Athenaeum teddy bear, first joined our hotel in 1990. Hotel Manager Sally Bulloch’s fondness for teddy bears inspired her to make one specifically for the hotel. If you’ve stayed in the hotel, you will have noticed our furry friend waiting patiently on your bed to welcome you to London.
Paying homage to our gorgeous friend Arthur and glamorous past from Sally’s days, we have taken her motto “In every man there is a child who wants to play” and created a mural that depicts just that.
Our story begins outside The Athenaeum Hotel on bustling Piccadilly, as Arthur Naeum embarks on a Christmas adventure sledging through the snow. On his Athenaeum sledge, he travels through London and its iconic sites. Passing the London Eye, Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Shard, he makes sure to stop by some children playing in the street and pay them and their friendly snowman a visit.
