Our young visitors get an extra special service when they visit us at The Athenaeum. Here’s all you need to know about our Children’s Concierge.
When families book to come and stay at The Athenaeum, we start planning for the arrival of those special little people straight away. We send a questionnaire to the parents or guardians of the little ones, asking about the child’s favourite things, including toys and films. If we’ve got them available, they’ll be ready and waiting in the room prior to arrival. Catching the look of surprise and wonder on their faces puts a smile on everyone’s face. One thing is for sure – children feel extra special, as if they’ve arrived in a home-from-home as soon as they set foot through the door.
After welcoming the little ones with their favourite things, our Children’s Concierge is subsequently on-hand throughout a family’s stay to sort out those added extras that really make a difference to children. They’ll look through our Toy Store to find just the right toys to suit the interests of the child. If the little ones like whizzing around on wheels, they’ll find our bikes, which are perfect for taking for a spin around Green Park, which is just opposite the hotel. They’ll even arrange a kite-flying session in the park if that takes the children’s fancy.
Later on in the day, the Children’s Concierge will organise a pre-bedtime treat of milk and biscuits and a selection of movies to help them drift towards the land of nod. For busy parents who need a night off, babysitters can be booked in advance to handle the evening’s childcare needs.
Since The Athenaeum is a family-run hotel, we know a thing or two about what children and their parents need. We believe the essence of a warm welcome and five star luxury should extend to all members of your group, whatever their age or shoe size! That’s why providing cots for babies is no problem, while our Residences have sofa beds or bunk beds – perfect for older children. Many families say our Residences are ideal for their needs, particularly as they have kitchenettes equipped with a fridge, washing machine and other essentials for family life.
Our Children’s Concierge and other family-friendly facilities mean your little princes and princesses become part of our family at The Athenaeum for as long as you stay. That’s one less reason for tantrums and one more reason to come and stay with us at The Athenaeum.
