Get stuck into London’s many special half-term events with the whole family this 16 to 23 February 2019.
This special event at The Making of Harry Potter at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London runs until 25 February. The special tour will give a fascinating insight into film-making techniques, wand-making and much more by the people involved in the making of the Harry Potter films.
Budding young zoologists can spend two days over the February half-term learning more about working at the zoo. From 18 to 19 February, ZSL London Zoo’s Junior Zoo Academy will include helping the zoo keepers, feeding some of the zoo’s residents and creative activities.
This 12-day festival specifically for children takes place at the Southbank Centre on the banks of the River Thames throughout the February half-term. Children will have the opportunity to experience the latest in children’s theatre, literature and music, plus there are plenty of free workshops to help children get creative.
London’s Science Museum is full of interactive and immersive experiences over half-term that will wow children and adults alike. Whether it’s to take the controls of an aircraft in the Fly 360° simulator, or take off with the Red Arrows in the Fly Kids experience, this is an adrenalin-pumping way to mix science with play.
This free workshop for children takes place in Hyde Park on 20 and 21 February. Children will go bird-watching with binoculars, follow the Bird Discovery Trail and make a bird feeder to take home at the end of the day.
The final performance of this hugely popular West End children’s theatre show coincides with the end of half-term. It’s a fantastic last opportunity to head over to the Piccadilly Theatre to become immersed in the story of a boy who becomes a would-be detective.
This special exhibition at the Natural History Museum runs through until 24 February. This is all about animals who live in the dark, whether it’s in caves or deep in the sea. The interactive exhibition offers an amazing experience for the whole family – kids go free.
