Take the stress out of meal preparations and enjoy a scrumptious picnic in the Royal Green Park prepared by Michelin chefs at 116 at The Athenaeum. Our picnic hampers feature a selection of sandwiches, savouries, desserts and more and allows the children to let off some steam in Green Park, just a stone’s throw away from The Athenaeum.
Visit the Sensational Butterflies exhibition at the Natural History Museum and discover a taste of the tropics and over 500 of its butterflies. You will come face-to-face with tropical butterflies from Africa, Asia and America and enjoy a range of games, activities and challenges to understand more about these native fluttering creatures.

Children’s playgrounds do not get much better then Diana’s Memorial Playground where a huge wooden Peter Pan-inspired pirate ship takes centrepiece! This magical wonderland also features a surrounding beach, sensory trail and teepees, as well as plenty of seating for parents. In memory of the late Princess Diana and located next to her Kensington Palace home, the playground is a fitting tribute for a Princess who loved children.

A Regimental Band or Corps of Drums with pipers provide musical support! Arrive around 10.30am for the best views.

On the particularly hot days, cool down at Serpentine Lido in Hyde Park. Enjoy over 110 yards of open water swimming, an exclusive children’s playground and a child-safe Paddle Pool. The Serpentine Lido has been a Londoner’s escape for over 100 years! There is a Lido Café Bar that has waterside tables for you to enjoy.
