The Queen’s Birthday Parade | Trooping the Colour
2 June
The Sovereign’s official birthday is marked by the ceremony of Trooping the Colour, which sees a traditional parade take place at Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty The Queen has taken the salute at every parade since her accession to the throne in 1952 (other than in 1955 when there was a national rail strike) and will be making a highly anticipated return for her remarkable 70th year as monarch. Excitingly, members of the public are invited to join and can watch the ceremony unfold from the stands on Horse Guards Parade, with tickets being available through a ballot.
