And finally, while it’s not technically a must-visit but rather a must-view, it seems only fitting to include ‘Hold Still – A portrait of our nation in 2020’. A new digital exhibition spearheaded by the Duchess of Cambridge and the National Portrait Gallery, Hold Still captures the spirit of a nation under lockdown during this exceptional period of history. Members of the public were invited to submit photographs of their individual and shared experiences under three themes: ‘Helpers and Heroes’, ‘Your New Normal’ and ‘Acts of Kindness’. This unique record of the tragedy and hope, humour and resilience, community and isolation is not to be missed.

Retail therapy…with a twist

Film and shopping lovers rejoice! Already housing everything your heart desires, Selfridges has outdone themselves with their very own chic cinema showcasing the latest flicks and some classics too. Plus, we all know retail therapy can be thirsty work so be sure to swing by their new London Calling Bar in partnership with Moët & Chandon. Designed to look like an iconic London telephone box, the intimate bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a well-deserved glass of Champagne whilst perusing the photographic exhibition featuring memorable moments of Moët-studded celebrations.

Alternatively, take a trip to one of London’s luxury retail arcades. Steeped in history and impressive architecture while away the hours pursuing some of the city’s best boutiques and world renowned chocolatiers. Between Burlington, Piccadilly and The Royal Arcade you’re spoilt for choice in our neck of the woods!

It’s curtains up for London’s theatres

The bright lights of the West End are set to glow once again with the likes of Wicked, Six and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie amongst the first musicals to bounce back this November, eight months after the curtains initially came down.

If catchy show-tunes aren’t your cup of tea, you’ll be pleased to hear a string of non-musical shows including The Play That Goes Wrong, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap and Adam Kay’s This Is Going To Hurt will all be admitting socially distant audiences in October.

But for those keen to get their theatre fix sooner, audiences can catch Jesus Christ Superstar: The Concert until the end of September. Relayed ‘live’ from the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre performance via a giant screen, attendees can settle on the lawn outside – picnic in tow.
