17th September 2020

London’s top attractions have strategically been planning their big reopening for quite some time. With venues implementing carefully thought out safety measurements and precautions to ensure the wellbeing of both guests and staff, there are plenty of exciting options to explore to enjoy autumn in the city.

Culture favourites for curious minds

London’s brimming museum scene is bursting with exhibitions aplenty for those hungry to get their culture fix. Art lovers can delight in exploring captivating installations featuring some of the world’s most renowned artists including:

Tracey Emin/Edvard Munch: The Loneliness of the Soul at The Royal Academy – 15 November 2020 – 28 February 2021

Grayson Perry: The MOST Specialest Relationship at Victoria Miro Gallery – 15 September–31 October 2020

Bruce Nauman at Tate Modern – 7 October 2020 – 21 February 2021

Alternatively, head west to pay homage to the seemingly simple bag. From Louis Vuitton luggage to Winston Churchill’s dispatch box, sponsored by Mulberry, Bags: Inside Out at the Victoria & Albert Museum explores the style, design and craftsmanship behind the ultimate accessory. Just don’t blame us if you feel a strong urge to go shopping afterwards.

And finally, while it’s not technically a must-visit but rather a must-view, it seems only fitting to include ‘Hold Still – A portrait of our nation in 2020’. A new digital exhibition spearheaded by the Duchess of Cambridge and the National Portrait Gallery, Hold Still captures the spirit of a nation under lockdown during this exceptional period of history. Members of the public were invited to submit photographs of their individual and shared experiences under three themes: ‘Helpers and Heroes’, ‘Your New Normal’ and ‘Acts of Kindness’. This unique record of the tragedy and hope, humour and resilience, community and isolation is not to be missed.
